Personal statements:
Counseling has been a calling close to my heart for much of my life. I have always been drawn to the unique and beautiful testimonies of people’s lives. However, the beauty of one’s story cannot always be felt in the middle of the storm. My passion for counseling is fueled by my desire to help individuals and couples brave those storms and develop skills and resilience to not only survive these difficult challenges, but to grow and develop a stronger sense of self that may empower them to see the beauty of their lives.
To accomplish this goal of individual and couple growth, I utilize a blend of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (which focuses on the relationship between internal and external dissonance), Person Centered Therapy (which empowers the client to be the author of their own healing journey), a number of family interventions (including pieces from Structural and Strategic approaches), as well as the client’s faith as a source of strength.
I believe in a strength-focused mentality and strive to integrate the best approaches in counseling literature with a biblical mindset to create a holistic and robust counseling experience for my clients.
