Personal statements:

As a professional helper, one of the greatest gifts is to be welcomed into people’s journeys towards spiritual, physical, mental, and relational wellness. Let’s face it, life is not easy, relationships can be messy, and at times the weight of the world seems unbearable. But I believe when we are able to persevere through the difficult times, strengthen our relationships, seek truth, and begin to make sense of the mess, we are able to find the beauty, hope, and fullness of life that God has created for us to enjoy. It takes work, and sometimes we need a little help along the way, but it is so worth it. As a counselor I strive to remain a curious learner of people’s stories and in turn help them access their own strengths and learn new skills that will ultimately allow them to find restoration, hope, and healing.
I am also a music therapist with the majority of my professional music therapy experience focused in hospice care, using music to help individuals with terminal illness and their families find comfort and navigate the end-of-life journey. Music is a universal language; a way to help us express ourselves when we don’t quite have the words. I enjoy incorporating music and other creative means of self expression and exploration into counseling sessions to enrich the counseling process.
My husband Keegan and I have been married for 10 wonderful years. I love to be outdoors whether it is running, camping, skiing, hiking, or simply enjoying the views of Lake Michigan. I also enjoy making music, baking, trying new foods, listening to podcasts, and when possible, taking a good nap. My counseling specialties include grief, loss, life transitions, aging and caregiving, anxiety and depression, and relationship issues.
